Ingredients
- 1 1/2lbs(680g) ground beef
- 1small onion, diced
- 1green bell pepper, diced
- 2garlic cloves, minced
- 1cup(240ml) ketchup
- 2 tbspbrown sugar
- 2 tbspWorcestershire sauce
- 1 tbspyellow mustard
- 1/2 tspsalt
- 1/2 tspblack pepper
- 1can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
- 2cups(200g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4cup(15g) chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
- Transfer the sloppy joe mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Scatter the biscuit dough quarters evenly over the top of the sloppy joe mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuits.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
