A delightful recipe for baked ham and cheese croissants that are flaky, buttery, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack.


Ingredients

  • 8mini croissants
  • 4slices smoked cheddar cheese (or regular cheddar), halved
  • 3/4pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoonsunsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoonsyellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoonhoney
  • 1/2to1teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1large egg white
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Carefully slice each croissant in half horizontally.
  3. On the bottom half of each croissant, place a half slice of cheddar cheese, followed by a slice of ham, and then another half slice of cheese.
  4. Place the top half of the croissant over the fillings to form a sandwich and gently press down.
  5. Place the assembled croissant sandwiches in a lightly greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

Use fresh croissants from a local bakery for the best flavor.
Feel free to customize with different cheeses or add spices to the mustard spread.
Let the croissants cool for a few minutes before serving.
