  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Jalapenos: Wearing gloves, slice the jalapenos into rings, discarding the stems.
  2. Make Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, garlic, mustard seeds, turmeric, and celery seed. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Cook Jalapenos: Add jalapenos to the boiling syrup. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes until they are tender.
  4. Jar and Seal: Using a slotted spoon, transfer jalapenos to sterilized jars. Boil the remaining syrup until thickened, about 5 minutes, and pour over the jalapenos. Seal jars tightly.
