- 1 cup(170g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 4large eggs
- 2 cups(480ml) whole milk
- ½ cup(120ml) heavy cream
- ½ cup(100g) sugar
- 1 teaspoonvanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoonsalt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the croissant pieces and chocolate chips in a baking dish.
- Gently press down on the croissants to ensure they soak up the custard.
- Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Stale croissants work well for this recipe.
Let the assembled bake sit in the fridge for an hour or overnight for richer flavor.
Check for doneness with a toothpick.
