Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 4 flour tortillas (6 inches)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or avocado)
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Dill pickle chips
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently roll each into a ball.
  2. Place each beef ball onto a tortilla and flatten it into a thin, even layer. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add oil.
  4. Place each tortilla meat-side down into the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes until crispy.
  5. Flip each tortilla, place a slice of cheese on top of the beef, and cook for 1–2 more minutes.
  6. Top with lettuce, onion, and pickle chips. Add sauce if desired.
  7. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
