A delicious recipe for Sweet & Savory Caramelized Pulled Beef Brisket that combines tender beef with a rich, flavorful sauce.


Ingredients

  • 45pounds beef brisket
  • 2large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 6cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  • 1/4 cupsoy sauce
  • 1 cupbeef broth
  • 1/4 cupapple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoonsmoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoonground cumin
  • 1 tablespoonblack pepper
  • 1 teaspoonsalt

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the brisket and rub with the spice mix of paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt.
  2. In a skillet, sauté onions in oil until caramelized (15-20 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Place caramelized onions in a slow cooker or Dutch oven, then add the brisket on top. Mix brown sugar, soy sauce, beef broth, and vinegar; pour over brisket.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours in a slow cooker or cover and bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 3-4 hours.
  5. After cooking, let the brisket rest for 20 minutes, then shred and mix with cooking liquid.

Notes

For best results, use a well-marbled brisket.
Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar.
Serve with your favorite sides for a complete meal.
